Ramaypatnam LightHouse is about 20 Km from kaveli Railway station on Chennai-Howrah trunk route. A church built in 1870 at ramaypatnam served as a landmark for the ships cruising off the ramaypatnam coast.
            the Lighthouse was built in 1982 and the PRB-21 equipment supplied by M/s Asia Navigational Aids, New Delhi , was installed on it. The lighthouse was commissioned in to service in june 1982. the sealed beam lamps were replaced by auto Head lights with 100W 24V halogen lamps in fabruary 1996.
            The ‘Tideland’ make Racon with Code’K’ was installed at the atation in September 2004
